This article preserves the ticketing and fraud checks relevant to travellers attending matches in Canada, without urging readers to buy tickets for a completed tournament. FIFA.com/tickets was the starting point for identifying general tickets and official resale. FIFA’s historical FAQ warns that unofficial purchases could involve fraud, invalid tickets or cancellation. A FIFA logo alone did not establish a website’s legitimacy, and these records do not establish current availability, the cheapest platform or guaranteed admission. FIFA.

Tickets were delivered as mobile tickets accessed and managed through the FWC2026 Mobile Tickets app. They could then be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet from the app. Screenshots, ticket photographs and printed copies were not accepted for entry, and tickets could not be downloaded as PDFs. FIFA also distinguished delivery from email notifications: an email notified the holder when tickets became available, but the notification was not an admission ticket delivered by email. An order screenshot or confirmation email could not replace the actual mobile ticket. FIFA. FIFA.

The absence of a QR code alone did not establish whether a ticket was genuine. FIFA recorded that entry codes appeared only a few hours before gates opened on matchday. Different matches or ticket products could be delivered at different times, and conditional tickets depended on a team qualifying. Reviewing a past dispute requires distinguishing payment, allocation, visibility in the app and an active QR code. A legitimate delay mechanism did not prove a seller was genuine and should not be used to dismiss suspicious payments or account problems. FIFA.

Ticket Transfer and official resale were separate functions. FIFA’s transfer feature could pass a ticket to another holder, who could use it, send it or list it for resale under the applicable conditions after accepting it. The official resale/exchange marketplace provided a separate sales channel. Sending a ticket to a companion in the app should not simply be described as completing a safe purchase. The ability to transfer did not mean FIFA guaranteed a private payment, the seller’s identity or promises made in a sale; the transaction source and ticket status needed separate checks. FIFA.

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre advises independently finding an organization’s official contact details when messages impersonate it, demand sensitive information or pressure someone to pay immediately. Do not rely solely on a link or phone number supplied by the sender. Slightly misspelled domains, unfamiliar sign-in pages and deadline pressure deserve attention. Use different passwords and enable multifactor authentication. A low price alone is not a fraud test, and ordinary transactions cannot all be described as requiring payment only after receipt. Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

When reviewing an old transaction, consider the payment record, original sales channel, transfer history and actual entry conditions together, rather than one screenshot. For the hosting context, see the Canadian World Cup historical review.
