This article reviews the arrangements published by the City, the organising business improvement area and the TTC. Announcements made before a match or festival are not personal attendance records or proof of actual crowds afterwards. The event should not be called the nonexistent “Dan’sforth”, nor should its location be inferred from an incorrect station name in the old article. City of Toronto. GreekTown on the Danforth BIA.

The GreekTown on the Danforth BIA described the festival area as Danforth Avenue from Broadview to Jones Avenue. Its published hours were Friday, August 7, 18:00–24:00; Saturday, August 8, 12:00–24:00; and Sunday, August 9, 12:00–22:00. These are historical 2026 event announcements, not dates for another edition or opening hours available today. They also do not establish that every shop on the street operated to the same schedule. GreekTown on the Danforth BIA.

The City’s June 11 announcement said that Toronto and Ontario were each contributing C$200,000 to support the return, for a combined C$400,000, not C$200,000 between them. Its attendance forecast was not a verified post-event count, and funding is not proven net event revenue. We do not retain unsupported vendor totals, actual takings or claims that everyone found the event worthwhile. City of Toronto.

The organiser described a street festival rooted in Greektown, with food, music, cultural performances and family activities. Free entertainment in the announcement did not mean that meals, drinks or every additional experience were free. The original notice also said that detailed programmes and participating restaurants would be announced separately. It does not establish a particular stall’s menu, prices, payment methods or allergens, or prove that a longer queue means better food. GreekTown on the Danforth BIA.

For August 7–9, the TTC’s August 6 notice announced extra Line 2 Bloor–Danforth service and identified Broadview, Chester and Pape stations for access. It also listed the 504 King and 505 Dundas streetcars and 8 Broadview bus, plus diversions for 72 Pape, 325 Don Mills and 300 Bloor Danforth. This is not evidence of a “Danforth subway station” or a free Union shuttle, nor a promise that those extra services operate now. The same notice’s overnight Line 1 work on August 10–13 concerned a different date range. TTC.

The festival and World Cup also need separate timelines. On July 20, Toronto had already published preliminary results for its six World Cup matches, a different period from the August 7–9 festival announcement. The festival must not be presented as a World Cup public screening in the same week. We do not establish that the event ran exactly as announced or guarantee another edition.
