Switzerland beat Canada 2–1, according to the final schedule published by BC Place. The match and city transit details below are historical; tournament traffic controls, ticketing and venue rules should not be treated as instructions for today.

Canada Soccer’s official match record shows a 0–0 first half. Ruben Vargas scored for Switzerland in the 46th minute, Johan Manzambi made it 2–0 in the 57th, and Promise David pulled one back for Canada in the 75th. In its post-match report, Canada Soccer confirmed that Canada still finished second in Group B and advanced to the Round of 32. The loss therefore did not end Canada’s home tournament.

The noon fixture also fell on a major transit day for Vancouver. TransLink’s preliminary post-tournament report put systemwide boardings on June 24 at nearly 1.4 million, its highest total in more than six years. Across Vancouver’s seven match days, ridership at SkyTrain stations near BC Place rose by an average of 54%. A “boarding” is each time someone boards a transit vehicle; it is not a count of unique passengers or stadium attendance. The June 24 figure covers the whole system, remains preliminary, and cannot tell us how long a particular traveller waited on a particular route.

A noon kickoff overlaps the day’s meal period. The official post-match records do not document venue food service or prices, so they cannot support claims about either; tournament-specific transit arrangements are historical.
