Information checked October 8, 2026. From Metro Vancouver, match the sailing terminal to your destination: Tsawwassen serves Swartz Bay for Victoria, Duke Point and Departure Bay for Nanaimo; Horseshoe Bay also serves Departure Bay. Nanaimo’s two terminals are in different locations. Check the date-specific sailing in BC Ferries’ route and passenger information before travelling. See the Tsawwassen terminal page for its listed destinations and check-in details.
Advance foot-passenger bookings are available on selected routes, including Tsawwassen–Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen–Duke Point and Horseshoe Bay–Departure Bay. Bookable space is limited, so no online foot-passenger booking does not necessarily mean the ferry has no space; walk-up travel remains subject to availability. For vehicles, booking and drive-up rules differ by route and sailing. BC Ferries sets aside different amounts of bookable vehicle-deck space, and vehicles on Horseshoe Bay–Departure Bay must be booked in advance. Check the official space-allocation rules for your route.
Plan each end of the trip separately. BC Ferries lists TransLink route 620 from Bridgeport to Tsawwassen. The BC Ferries Connector to Victoria is operated by Wilson’s Group; Metro Vancouver’s TransLink and Vancouver Island’s BC Transit are separate systems with separate fares. BC Ferries currently lists no public transit at Duke Point, so arrange that last leg in advance. Check the terminal transport options and current TransLink schedules, leaving time for connections at both ends.
Fares and fees vary by route, passenger or vehicle type, booking and travel date. Do not reuse an old price: check your sailing on the official BC Ferries fares page before paying. For the Vancouver portion of your trip, see our Vancouver planning guide.
