The Netherlands closed out Group F at the 2026 World Cup with a 3-1 win over Tunisia at Kansas City Stadium to seal top spot in the group. Ronald Koeman’s side flew out of the blocks, going ahead in the 3rd minute when Dumfries’ cross from the right was inadvertently turned into his own net by Tunisia captain Ellyes Skhiri. It got better four minutes later, as Van Dijk cushioned a Reijnders free-kick into the path of Brian Brobbey, who prodded home at the back post in the 7th minute. Tunisia rallied after the interval and pulled one back in the 54th minute, Hazem Mastouri glancing home Hannibal’s right-wing corner. Any hope of a comeback was extinguished in the 62nd minute, however, when Jan Paul van Hecke headed in to restore the two-goal cushion.
The result left the Netherlands top of Group F on seven points from two wins and a draw, finishing ahead of Japan on five, while a winless Tunisia went out bottom of the group without a single point. The Dutch now advance to the Round of 32, where they will meet Morocco in Mexico at the end of June, having avoided a meeting with Brazil by claiming first place.
