Toronto’s summer outdoor theatre tradition, Dream in High Park, returns this year with a production of Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night, staged at the High Park Amphitheatre from July 12 through September 6. Performances run Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., with Sunday shows starting at 7 p.m.; Mondays are dark.
Regular tickets are $35 CAD. With help from sponsors and donors, a deeply discounted low-cost ticket option is also available for select Twelfth Night performances, and $20 CAD rush tickets are sold at the gate only, starting 30 minutes before showtime, on a first-come, first-served basis. A few special performances round out the run this year: Queer Night on July 24 celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, Dog Night on July 29 welcomes audiences to bring their pets, and Date Night on July 30 pairs the show with a picnic and charcuterie under the stars.
For visitors with kids or anyone looking for a relaxed evening out, outdoor Shakespeare is a classic way to experience Toronto’s summer culture — bring a picnic blanket or folding chair and arrive early to stake out a spot.
