The 2026 World Cup has ended. This review explains Vancouver ticket pricing and consumer protections; it does not offer available matches or an unverified price table. On February 4, 2024, Vancouver’s organizers announced seven matches at BC Place Vancouver: five group games, a round-of-32 match and a round-of-16 match, from June 13 to July 7, 2026. That announcement establishes the planned programme, not particular scores, advancement outcomes or actual transaction prices. Vancouver FWC26.

FIFA described its historical system as variable pricing: it could review demand and availability for each match and adjust prices during sales phases. It explicitly distinguished this from dynamic pricing that changes prices automatically. To compare historical offers, check the match, ticket product, seating category, currency and quotation date together. A lowest price observed once does not establish availability throughout every sales phase. Without a verifiable original offer, fixed Canadian-dollar ranges, claims that popular matches necessarily cost more or that earlier is always cheaper cannot be treated as facts or used to predict the next tournament’s budget. FIFA.

B.C.’s June 12, 2026 bulletin explicitly included World Cup ticket businesses within the Ticket Sales Act’s scope. Sellers had to disclose the total price, itemized fees and taxes, currency, seat or standing location, transfer restrictions and applicable terms. Prices are stated in Canadian dollars unless another currency is specified. Primary sellers disclose face value when issuing the ticket; resellers and platforms must disclose it before purchase. These requirements help establish what is being bought, but the law does not regulate prices or availability. Consumer protections are not a Vancouver price cap or a promise that tickets will be available. Government of British Columbia.

Provincial rules cannot be applied interchangeably. FIFA’s historical resale guidance limited Ontario’s original-purchase-price cap to matches at Toronto Stadium, not BC Place Vancouver. It also distinguished listing prices, resale charges and the checkout total: after selecting a category and quantity, the total including applicable taxes was shown before purchase. Those official marketplace rules neither endorsed other platforms nor guaranteed that a listed ticket would sell. FIFA.

When reviewing an old Vancouver transaction, identify whether the seller was a primary ticket business, commercial reseller or platform. Consumer Protection BC explains that private consumer-to-consumer sales by someone who is not a ticket-selling business fall outside this ticket law. Counterfeit tickets, denied admission, a ticket that differs from its description or an event cancellation may qualify for a refund from a commercial reseller or platform. Start with the seller and keep the order and correspondence. Credit-card buyers can then request a refund from their card provider and, if unresolved, complain to Consumer Protection BC. This is a conditional process, not a guarantee that every payment can be recovered. Consumer Protection BC.

To document a historical ticket price, record the date, currency, face value, resale offer, fees, taxes and final payment separately, then check the original order and refund terms. A seating category cannot replace that match’s seating plan or guarantee sightlines, weather or the admission experience. This article withdraws the old unsupported price table and score claims, retaining verified pricing principles and provincial distinctions. For the Canadian hosting context, see the Canadian World Cup historical review; historical ticket information is not an invitation to buy those matches now.
