Central Park Final Watch Party: a lawn for fifty thousand, and you can still enter the lottery

The biggest free event on final day is the Central Park Great Lawn Final Watch Party, co-hosted by Global Citizen with FIFA and the New York New Jersey host committee: the Central Park Great Lawn, a capacity of fifty thousand, three giant LED screens plus surround sound—billed as the world’s largest final watch party. Doors open at 12 noon on July 19, and the final kicks off at 3 p.m. (Eastern Time).

The key is the ticket rules: free, but you must have a ticket, and it’s by lottery. The process is to register your name and email on the official Global Citizen event page and complete one Global Citizen “action” (for example, writing a message in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund) to earn lottery entry. The lottery runs in five rounds (6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/15, 7/16), and the registration deadline is July 16; winners are notified by email and must complete ticket collection on Ticketmaster within 48 hours or forfeit—each win is two tickets. Registering today still gets you into the remaining four rounds, so if you’re already planning to be in New York during final week, be sure to register first. Hudson Yards: full broadcast, just walk in and watch
