Updated October 8, 2026. Start a Toronto plan with the number of days you have, then group stops by area. This is a way to make choices, not a checklist to finish every day. With one day, stay downtown; Toronto Islands and Niagara Falls each add separate travel logistics and should not be squeezed into the same day.
One day: Build around Union Station, the waterfront and downtown, and choose one or two nearby attractions. Use the downtown map to compare places such as the CN Tower, Harbourfront and St. Lawrence Market. Check opening days and admission arrangements before committing to an indoor attraction or tower visit. Union Station connects local and regional services, while the TTC publishes downtown maps and current route information; recheck service for your date.
Three days: Give one day to downtown, one to Toronto Islands, and one to a smaller selection of museums or neighbourhoods such as the ROM, AGO, Kensington Market or Chinatown. Do not try to cover every stop in one day. Island ferries run year-round, but routes vary by season and schedules can change with weather or mechanical issues. Multi-use paths connect parts of the islands, so leave time for walking between areas.
Five days: Keep the first three days flexible, then use another day for a neighbourhood or museum that fits your interests. If Niagara Falls is a priority, plan it as a separate regional outing. GO Transit lists the Toronto–Niagara Falls corridor, but schedules change; check the Trip Planner for your travel date, return options and connections instead of relying on an old timetable or a fixed journey-time promise.
From Pearson, compare UP Express with other airport options; after reaching Union Station, check TTC routes for your lodging area. The City’s visitor transportation guide covers airport and local travel. Fares, service, ferry routes, attraction hours and accessible paths can change, so confirm details for your dates and group. For a city overview, see our Toronto guide; for a day-by-day example, see the three-day Toronto plan.
