Historic 2010 view of Toronto's Hockey Hall of Fame exterior and hockey sculpture

The Hockey Hall of Fame is at Brookfield Place, 30 Yonge Street, Toronto. Its ticket entrance is on the lower shopping concourse, not through the historic bank’s front doors at Yonge and Front. Enter Brookfield Place at 10 Front Street West, continue through Sam Pollock Square and the Galleria, and take the escalators down. Follow signs to the admission desk east of the food court, beside Pigeon Cafe. Use our Toronto travel guide to choose other downtown stops, then check the Hall’s entrance and directions.

The historic bank building houses the Esso Great Hall; it is misleading to describe the entire museum as a single former banking hall. The Hall’s architectural history dates construction to 1885. The building served as a Bank of Montreal head office until 1949 and continued as a branch until 1982. The former banking room measures about 70 feet square, with a stained-glass dome rising 45 feet. Those measurements describe that room, not the museum’s total floor area. Architecture can be a reason to visit, but ceremonies can temporarily close the Great Hall.

Checked on October 11, 2026, regular admission costs CAD 29.95 for ages 14–64, CAD 19.95 for ages 4–13 and CAD 24.95 for ages 65 and over; children aged 3 and under enter free. Applicable taxes are extra. The current online tickets are valid through December 31, 2026, which does not mean they can be used indefinitely into another year. Choose a visit date and read the ticket conditions before paying; these prices do not guarantee future rates or special packages.

Regular fall hours are currently 10:00–17:00 daily. On November 7 and 8, 2026, the museum opens 10:00–18:00, but the Esso Great Hall closes on the 7th from 12:00–16:30 and on the 8th from 10:00–15:30. The Stanley Cup moves to another location during those closures, so longer museum hours do not mean every exhibit stays open all day. The museum closes completely on November 9 and December 24–25, 2026, and January 1, 2027. These published date-specific arrangements are not a permanent annual calendar.

The Hall’s PRESTO offer gives 20% off regular admission when you show a PRESTO card or GO Transit ride ticket/day pass. It applies only to tickets purchased in person and cannot be combined with another promotion. Do not assume that presenting a card after buying online will produce a refund. Compare admission, taxes and any extra services separately; a transit ticket is not itself a museum admission ticket.

The visitor tips describe an average visit of about two hours, rather than a time everyone will need. Regular admission covers the day, and an entry hand stamp allows you to leave and return within opening hours. There are no lockers or coat-check service, and outside food and drinks cannot be brought in. Arrange large luggage and meals before entering if those are part of your day.

Wheelchairs and strollers can reach every area, with an elevator beside the Great Hall steps. Cameras are welcome, and the Hall offers a Stanley Cup photo service. Professional prints, digital copies and the trophy remaining in one fixed location should not be treated as guaranteed inclusions with every ticket. If photographing a particular trophy matters to your visit, read the service information and display notices for your date. A historical photograph does not establish today’s display conditions.

TTC riders can use King or Union station and continue through PATH or along streets. Union also connects with GO Transit, VIA Rail and UP Express. An underground route is an option, without a promise that every access point is open around the clock or unaffected by all weather. Drivers can consider Brookfield Place’s Front or Wellington Street entrances west of Yonge, or St. Lawrence Garage at 2 Church Street. The Hall lists both parking options; prices depend on the operator and length of stay, rather than one fixed citywide rate.
