Australia and Türkiye kicked off at BC Place Vancouver on June 13, 2026, in the city's first match of that men's World Cup. FIFA's historical schedule records 21:00 Vancouver time; Football Australia's pre-match announcement gives June 14 at 14:00 AEST. Those are the same instant. The tournament is over, so this is a review of the entry and return arrangements announced at the time, not a timetable for services available today. It was not Vancouver's first-ever FIFA match. TransLink's June 3 announcement directed stadium-bound riders to Main Street–Science World, the starting point of the Last Mile walking route to the primary entrance. Stadium–Chinatown station was not closed entirely: on match days, its lower Expo Boulevard entrance was closed, while the Keefer Street and Beatty Street entrances remained available to riders travelling elsewhere. The lower entrance closure did not apply on non-match days. Reducing the notice to 'the stadium station was closed' changes its meaning. TransLink.
The host committee's retained entry guide also identifies Main Street–Science World as the main arrival point, but separately describes joining the walking route from Stadium–Chinatown via the Keefer steps and lists access points at Abbott, Carrall and Columbia streets. It says entrances can vary with ticket type, accessibility needs and other requirements. These details and TransLink's alighting instructions cannot be collapsed into one rule that everyone had a single entrance. Return transport had its own date limits. TransLink's May 25 planning announcement said SkyTrain would operate one hour later on the night-match dates of June 13, June 26 and July 2. The special West Coast Express trip on June 13 was scheduled to leave Mission at 17:00, reach Waterfront around 18:15 and depart Waterfront for the return journey at 01:30 the following morning. These were announced service plans, not records of punctual operation or evidence of a train every night. The temporary route 1 downtown circulator was announced for June 8 to July 12. TransLink.
Security and arrival times also need their document context. The retained host guide says doors would open to ticket holders three hours before kickoff and advises moving from the pedestrian route towards the stadium at least two hours beforehand. It also says FIFA's clear-bag rules differed from ordinary BC Place event rules, allowed smaller bags and referred readers to the FIFA official app used for the tournament. This undated page alone does not establish the actual opening of every entrance on June 13 or the old article's 30×30×15 cm bag dimensions. Ticketed entry routes and public screenings outside the stadium were separate arrangements. When reading historical transport guidance, check the local match date, notice date, temporary service period, ticket type and accessibility conditions together. The special trains and entrance closures from that tournament cannot simply be applied to today's BC Place events. That is why the scope of each notice matters as much as its station names and times.
