Facts checked: 2026-09-16 | Historical guide to the 2026 event
The 2026 Calgary Stampede has ended. The organizer’s visitor guide for that year gives July 3–12 as the official dates, and its July 12 closing-day report records the final agriculture competitions. This article preserves the edition’s travel and ticketing context, distinguishing park entry, competitions, shows and transport. Every 2026 session, offer and temporary measure described here is historical, not an invitation still valid today or a promise for the next edition.

Stampede Park is the whole site. GMC Stadium hosted that edition’s Rodeo and Evening Show; the Scotiabank Saddledome hosted the Stampede Concert Series. These names are not interchangeable, and other buildings include the BMO Centre. The venue operator’s year-round directions list the BMO Centre at 1912 Flores LaDue Parade SE and locate the grounds southeast of downtown. Navigate to the actual venue and entrance rather than treating one old park address as every show’s check-in point.
2026 tickets and programmes: park entry was not all-inclusive
The 2026 ticket FAQ explicitly separates the Rodeo and Evening Show: an afternoon ticket did not admit its holder to the evening event. Advance tickets for either included Stampede Park admission on the date shown. Same-day park entry did not mean another performance, all rides or all food was included. Compare the date, seat and inclusions together.
| 2026 ticket or purchase | What it covered | What it did not establish |
|---|---|---|
| General admission | Entry to the Stampede Park grounds. | Seats for the Rodeo, Evening Show or every concert. |
| Rodeo | That afternoon’s rodeo; advance purchase included same-day park entry. | Admission to the Evening Show. |
| Evening Show | That evening’s races and Grandstand Show; advance purchase included same-day park entry. | A pass for programmes in every venue. |
| Stampede Concert Series | The selected concert; advance purchase included park entry that day. | Other dates or concerts. |
| Midway rides and games | Use according to the required coupons, credits or applicable wristband. | Free rides merely because park entry was allowed. |
| SuperPass | One entry on each of the ten main event days in 2026. | Ten days of all shows, rides and food. |
The 2026 Rodeo page listed a daily 1:30 p.m. start at GMC Stadium. The Evening Show page listed 7:15 p.m. at the same stadium, with Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races, Indigenous relay racing and the Grandstand Show’s music, dance and fireworks. These were published local times for 2026. The whole evening programme was not simply the Rodeo, and these times cannot be used to reserve a future session.
The 2026 Stampede Concert Series information placed its concerts at the Scotiabank Saddledome and confirmed same-day park entry with advance tickets. Separately, the official Midway information described coupons and wristbands for rides and games, with each attraction displaying its required number. Distinguish the usage date, eligible attractions and park admission when choosing a ride product. Being allowed into the Midway did not mean all rides had been paid for.
The authorized retailer’s 2026 SuperPass information allowed one park entry per day during public opening hours from July 3 to 12. It was a different product from Ride All Day. This source explains a historical ticket, not a current purchase offer; old adult prices, child exemptions and package prices cannot be carried into another edition. For the 2026 Rodeo and Evening Show specifically, the ticket FAQ required tickets from age 2; children under 2 could attend free on a parent’s or guardian’s lap. That was not the general park-admission age policy.
The 2026 Value Days announcement listed Sneak-A-Peek on July 2 from 5 p.m. to midnight, with CAD 15 admission. Free entry after the July 3 parade ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On July 5, admission was free before 11 a.m.; breakfast was separately limited to 8–10 a.m., while supplies lasted, with breakfast tickets required. These dated offers have expired. Free entry, breakfast and rides are different benefits, and this was not free breakfast everywhere in the city every day.
The 2026 parade announcement scheduled the July 3 prelude at 8 a.m. and the main parade at 9 a.m. It took place on downtown streets, not in GMC Stadium. The city’s closure notice described phased restrictions from 6 a.m., with reopening dependent on the route being cleared. Watching the parade, entering the grounds and attending a reserved-seat show were separate arrangements; none automatically granted the other two.
Separate historical transport measures from general trip planning
The 2026 visitor guide recommended the CTrain Red Line to Erlton/Stampede or Victoria Park/Stampede. Erlton was convenient for GMC Stadium; Victoria Park served the Saddledome and BMO Centre area. Station choice depended on the destination and open entrance. The city’s Stampede transport information and organizer’s guide both described 24-hour CTrain service during the event. This was temporary festival service, not year-round overnight operation, and it establishes no future frequency, fare or shuttle arrangement.
The 2026 parking notice listed public parking at CAD 30 per entry, first come, first served. Selected reserved parking cost CAD 65 per day, guaranteed a space in the chosen lot and included in-and-out privileges; orders closed on June 30 or when capacity was reached. Those were particular 2026 products, not uniform citywide or year-round prices. Temporary pickup locations and parade closures are also not today’s directions. For another event, consult year-round parking information and that event’s entrances.
For other visits to Stampede Park now, use Calgary Transit’s service-change information and trip planning for the new travel date, distinguishing planned closures, replacement buses and ordinary service. Its construction calendar, updated September 14, 2026, marked the September 12–13 work between Erlton/Stampede and Chinook as complete. Neither that finished closure nor July’s overnight trains should be presented as continuing on September 16.
For a similar large event, choose the main performance first and place walking, agriculture exhibits and meals around it. Seeing afternoon and evening shows on the same day also requires time for admission, movement and rest. One day or several depends on the programmes, companions and walking demands; two days does not guarantee seeing everything. Identify the activities and venues that matter before deciding whether to add nights.
The organizer’s 2026 guide identified indoor rest areas, shade and shelter from rain, but historical facilities do not guarantee the layout of another event. Choose clothing, sun protection and walking shoes for the actual weather and identify rest and meeting points. General impressions of summer are not a forecast for a particular date. Arrange the journey home, avoid driving after drinking or when fatigued, and follow staff instructions and signs.
Compare accommodation by the total price including tax, cancellation deadline, parking charges, available transit and the journey after a late show. Booking early can widen the choice without guaranteeing the lowest price; not every hotel necessarily becomes dearer near the event. If adding Banff or Lake Louise, plan transport and accommodation separately instead of assuming a long drive after an evening show. The Canada attractions overview and Canada life guide can help with broader planning.
This page retains the 2026 edition. At the time of checking, the official ticket page offered information registration and contact details for the next edition. Future dates, sales status and ticket conditions require their own verification. Do not infer a new season’s prices, free days, shows or transport from this historical guide.
