The national Culture Days 2026 period ran from September 18 to October 4 and has ended. The organizer describes a distributed network of participatory arts and culture events, both in person and online, rather than one festival venue. This is a historical record based on public organizer pages, not a recommendation for activities that are still open. See the official 2026 dates and the organizer’s description of the program.
The official event directory listed “Dance for All with Teaċ Daṁsa’s Rachel Poirier” at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre for September 26, noon to 1 p.m. The listing marked it free, offered in English and French, and included accessibility details. September 30 had a distinct commemorative focus. Culture Days says it has set that date aside since 2022 for events organized to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, including events sharing First Nations, Métis and Inuit experiences and perspectives. A 2026 statement from Canadian Heritage says the day honours victims and Survivors of the residential school system, their families and communities, and recognizes the residential school system’s continuing impacts.
