Updated October 8, 2026. B.C.’s August 10 temporary restrictions on recreational off-road vehicles (ORVs) covered the Kamloops and Southeast fire centres, the 100 Mile House Forest District in the Cariboo, and parts of the Coastal Fire Centre. The province’s original bulletin described the affected areas and Crown-land scope.
The BC Wildfire Service later issued area-specific notices confirming that this group of restrictions was lifted at noon on August 28: Kamloops, Southeast, 100 Mile House and Coastal. This is a historical record of the temporary summer 2026 orders; it does not mean the same four-area prohibition remains in force across B.C.
Lifting those broad orders does not rule out a separate restriction near an active wildfire, on particular land, or under a local government.
