Canada’s 2026 men’s World Cup group was announced after the draw in Washington, DC on December 5, 2025, not in June 2026. Canada Soccer named Switzerland, Qatar and the winner of European Play-Off Path A as the Group B opponents. That final place was still unresolved: Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales and Bosnia and Herzegovina were possible opponents. Bosnia’s eventual qualification must not be presented as something already known on draw day. Canada Soccer.
The completed match records identify Canada, Switzerland, Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina as the four Group B teams. Canada drew 1–1 with Bosnia on June 12 at Toronto Stadium, also known as BMO Field, before completing its other two group games in Vancouver. Canada’s two group matches at BC Place kicked off at 3 p.m. Vancouver time on June 18 against Qatar and noon on June 24 against Switzerland. The results, expressed from Canada’s perspective, were 6–0 and 1–2. FIFA’s home-away ordering is not itself a statement that Canada won or lost. Historical dates and kick-off times must retain the venue’s local time zone rather than copying Toronto time into a Vancouver itinerary. FIFA.
Canada Soccer’s five-match tournament record also includes a 1–0 Round of 32 win over South Africa in Inglewood on June 28 and a 0–3 Round of 16 defeat against Morocco in Houston on July 4. Neither took place at BC Place. A retrospective should no longer describe those opponents as undetermined or the matches as upcoming. The host committee’s retained transport page identifies Main Street–Science World, on the Expo Line, as the principal match-day arrival point. The Canada Line does not directly serve either that station or Stadium–Chinatown. A closure of Stadium–Chinatown’s lower entrance did not mean the entire station stopped operating.
